Dahlias could be one of the most enchanting flowers in the garden. Originally cultivated by the Aztecs in Mexico for food and medicine, this magical plant is a prolific bloomer and a mesmerizing beauty. The dahlia grows from tubers, which also proliferate below ground throughout the growing season as you harvest the flowers. One tuber creates a mound that can be divided for an infinite number of dahlias. We supply you with a total of eight tubers and potted plants and all the know-how to be successful at growing, dividing and multiplying your own dahlia garden.
What is included:
The Dahlia Lover’s Garden Starter Kit includes dahlia tubers, a 10 page color PDF resource of everything you need to know about growing dahlias in arid climates with regenerative gardening practices. The kit includes a handmade dahlia zine, an original poem, and a step-by-step graphic one-pager you can take to the garden with you. The collection includes a mix of colors – white, bright and soft pink, orange, burgundy, yellow and some surprise hues that are difficult to describe. The mix will be a range of dahlia flower types such as ball, decorative, water lily and anemone.
The Dahlia Lovers Garden Starter Kit is designed for gardeners of all levels who want to cultivate stunning dahlias while gaining expert knowledge of how to grow them in arid climates and with natural inputs.

Our Philosophy Our approach to garden design is rooted in years of ecological study and deep appreciation of wild landscapes. These places thrive without the tending of humans. We look for inspiration in the patterns from nature and apply them to backyard landscapes with a permaculture lens. This process involves a series of thoughtful, purposeful interventions that begin with observation (ours and yours).
We are on a mission to change our relationship with our landscapes and stitch together a quilt of backyard habitat that conserves water, captures and stores carbon and sustains biodiversity, including wildlife, pollinators, insects and songbirds.
We partner with you to cultivate a positive relationship with your garden space, your neighborhood and empower you to be an attentive and joyful participant in your landscape.
We choose plants that thrive in the desert environment of Arizona’s Verde Valley so you can live in harmony with the local ecology and let your garden be wild.

Flower Power Testimonials“I have enjoyed being a CSA member of yours, and the share has been so much more than just a share. It’s been a vein of consciousness, placed at the exact perfect moments when I’ve needed it the most, including being a deep bonding experience with my daughter.”
— Katie“I received a bouquet of yours from my neighbor to help me celebrate my wife, who passed last August just two months short of her 94th birthday. She and I had been together for over 41 years. In the bouquet were pussy willows which have been special to me since I was a child. I’m grateful for your help in honoring her and hope, one day to drop by and meet you.”
