healing herbs for body and soul
medicinal herb tinctures
We are enchanted with holy basil or tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum). This beautiful and aromatic herb has an intoxicating scent of lemon, clove and licorice, and attracts bees and other pollinators to the garden. This sacred herb has been cultivated in India for over 3000 years. It is considered an adaptogen, which is a natural substance used in herbal medicine to regulate the systems of the body and restore homeostasis. An herb for our modern world, tulsi helps the body adapt to stress and anxiety, strengthens the immune system, regulates blood sugar, adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. For the last several decades medical researchers have studied the pharmacological effects of tulsi, including combating exposure chemical pollutants and heavy metals by protecting organs and tissue.
We grow tulsi and process the leaves into an herbal tincture in alcholol as well as into dried tea.
Flower essences
Flowers contain healing properties that help bolster our emotional and mental wellness. The first 38 flower essence remedies were created by Dr. Edward Bach, a British physician in 1938 to address particular characteristics or an emotional state based on case studies.
Flower essences work on an energetic level on the subtle body, or on our life energy, emotions and spiritual essence. Every plant contains a life force which can evoke specific qualities within us, the way music and art carry meaning and inspiration. Flower essences are created by infusing freshly-opened flower blossoms in spring water in the sunshine, thus harnessing the life force of the plant and preserving it with brandy.
